I have been interested in math since I first discovered numbers. The connections and applications one can make between numbers intrigues me. In undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses I have learned the importance of hard work and active engagement. However, the past five years as a Mathematics Teacher truly demonstrated to me the power of learning and fueled my passion for teaching. I teach because I enjoy interacting with people; I enjoy being a reference for students and helping them develop critical thinking skills.
My teaching experience has enhanced my problem-solving skills, my ability to think on my feet, and my attention to detail. I feel that my strong communication and problem-solving skills coupled with my knack for organization will enable me to excel in diverse roles that require these skills. I am a quick learner who is motivated by opportunities to help and gain knowledge.
